RUtv is always looking for committed, hard-working individuals to help run RUtv. As part of the management team, you would be involved in the operations of Ryerson’s student-run television station. RUtv is a growing organization and we’re looking for people that want to get involved in many areas. Here are the RUtv departments and just some of the areas that you could work in:
Programming: supervising shows, news programming
Marketing : public relations, creative services (promotions, bumpers, graphics, etc.)
Business & Legal Affairs: sponsorship, copyright clearances
Human Resources: training, recruitment
Technical Operations: content collection, master control operation, website design
This is not an exhaustive list. If you’re skilled in a specific area, and want to get involved with RUtv please email RUtv’s Human Resources Director with your resume and/or a statement of skills and interest to hr@rutv.ca.
Produce a Show
If you’re the type who watches television and thinks to themselves, “Gee, I bet I could write something better than that” or “I would have done that this way”, and you’ve got an idea for a show, then maybe you should pitch your show idea to RUtv.
As a Series Producer, you are the “showrunner” and are responsible for delivery a show to RUtv on a schedule. You (and your team) have creative control over the way it’s written, shot, edited, etc. You will be assigned an Supervising Producer from RUtv that will guide you in the process and provide you with notes to help you along the way.

RUtv is always seeking skilled individuals in any area of television production that want to learn, but already have some knowledge and experience in their area of specialty, and want to expand that skill set, along with others. Areas of use to RUtv programs include, but aren’t limited to:
camera operator
casting director
composer
director
director of photography
editor
floor director
gaffer
graphic designer
hair and make-up
producer
production assistant
production designer
production manager
script supervisor
sound mixer
sound recordist
special effects designer

visual effects designer
VTR operator

The positions are available and required on a variety of shows and genres including: drama, comedy, music, entertainment, news & current affairs, reality, competition, lifestyle, sports, events, and more!
